Job Responsibilities
- The Board of Trustees (BoT) of the University of Science and Technology Chittagong (USTC) invites applications from distinguished, dynamic, visionary and accomplished academicians for the position of Vice-Chancellor of the University.
- The Vice-Chancellor will serve as the chief academic and executive of USTC and will provide strategic leadership for academic excellence, research, innovation, institutional governance, quality assurance, financial sustainability and overall institutional development.
Requirements
Candidates must fulfill the qualifications and eligibility requirements prescribed under the Private University Act, 2010, and the applicable rules and regulations of the University Grants Commission (UGC) and the Government of Bangladesh.In general, candidates should possess the following qualifications and experience:
- A PhD degree from a recognized university, preferably in a discipline relevant to the academic programs offered by USTC.
- A distinguished academic career with a strong record of teaching, research, scholarly publications and contributions to higher education.
- At least 20 (twenty) years of combined experience in university teaching, research, academic administration and institutional management, including substantial experience as a Professor, subject to applicable statutory requirements.
- Experience as Pro-Vice-Chancellor, Dean, Head of Department, Director or an equivalent senior academic leadership position will be given preference.
- Proven competence in university governance, strategic planning, academic leadership, institutional development and administrative management.
- Demonstrated knowledge and experience in implementing Outcome-Based Education (OBE), accreditation processes, quality assurance and academic program development will be considered an added advantage.
- A strong record of research, publications, national and international academic collaboration and research development.
- Experience in developing institutional partnerships, industry-academia linkages and national and international academic networks will be an advantage.
- Candidates must have integrity, professional credibility, leadership capacity and a commitment to maintaining academic standards, transparency and institutional accountability.
